How We Did It

We’ve created this site with the support of a team of digital mentors over two day-long workshops in July 2010, through which we’ve got involved with WordPress web development, graphic design, photography, content and social media.

As its starting point, the site features film interviews where each of us shares our experiences of redundancy. These were directed by documentary-maker Liz Allen, who also directed the BBC’s recent Inside John Lewis documentary.

It’s been an extremely rapid and interesting process, and you can see how we’ve made this happen over on the blog.

Retooled is an independent project produced by Antonio Gould and Lizzie Ostrom on behalf of Maverick. This pilot is supported by Arts Council England and Birmingham City Council as part of Say Hello, a programme of projects that break new ground for participatory work around digital media.
